The September Journal Prompt Guide is here. This month, we’re exploring New Beginnings.

I planned the monthly themes for these guides during a brainstorming activity in December 2025, not knowing that every single guide would be the exact one I needed for this season.

September can be a new beginning for many of us. It feels especially true for me as I've launched my firstborn child into the adult world as a college student, and am facing unexpected new chapters in my life personally and professionally.

This month’s prompts are designed to help you prepare for new beginnings, release the past, find presence and support through the transition, and hold onto future hope.

I hope they nurture your heart if you are in a season of new beginnings.

The prompts are grouped into five themes:

  • Preparing & Evaluating

  • Releasing & Letting Go

  • Being Present

  • Resources & Support

  • Future Hope

There’s no wrong way to use them. You can go through the guide in order, choose a prompt that resonates with your day, or simply open to a random page and begin. If a prompt doesn’t speak to you, you might even try writing about why it doesn’t. Sometimes that resistance holds its own truth.

How to Access the Guide

The September Journaling Guide is available for free to all paid subscribers of this newsletter.

A Space to Write Together

If you’ve been craving a place to write and reflect in community, I’d love to invite you to join my From a Whisper to a Roar Journaling Circle.

We gather every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at 9:00 AM EST.

This isn’t a workshop or a class. It’s a supportive, non-judgmental space to come as you are. We begin with a prompt, write in silence, and end with optional reflection. You can share, or simply be held in the quiet presence of others who are also doing this work.
